Getting ready to get lost again :)

Why was I lost again?
Ok two and a half years ago I came to gurgaon with lots of hope that the bright young mind is going to get better opportunities in life. Things which were expected were:

  • Meeting loads of pretty women
  • Getting something to work on which probably would remove the rust off my mind
  • Being handsomely rewarded for performing the probable work above excellence

So those were the expectations two and a half years ago. The time taught me:

  • There no pretty girls who actually work. If at all they do, their a locust around them, so unless you wanna catch a flu, you are better off them.
  • Work in general sucks, for some it sucks less :)
  • Handsome rewards are paid to those who have handsome connections :D

After facing the hard facts of corporate life, and deciding its high time to move on, the hunt started for finding something that would appease the hungry mind. Given the number of offers ranging from 10k per month to undefined amounts, it just appeared to be another load of crap. Especially, when they came up with cab facilities and subtle hopeless perks. However, some opportunities did seem to make it slightly less sucking. Out of the blue, I got an offer from a firm which I had never expected. The firm looked interesting, so it was decided to go ahead and meet the folks out there for a personal interview. The first round gave me a glimpse of what was to be expected. The second round was the better one, where I encountered the head. The words were impressive, the options lucrative. But, as you know in the patent world, its ambiguity which is settled out in lawsuits, in this case the workplace. Later on the HR calls me up. We have a talk and finalize the deal. Tomorrow I join the firm. The past teaches you lessons. And the lesson learnt was to move out and try newer opportunities. And if the opportunity shows promise, don't reconsider, just move on. And there I am getting ready to get lost again with new conditions:

  • Waking up early and driving 30 kms to work.
  • Working like a Patent Attorney.
  • Working in a small group.
  • Understanding the meaning of perks.
